Help & FAQ
Everything in one place: fixes for common problems and answers about PokerLay.
Why it might not work
Red Star (or the client) isn't detected
- Make sure the poker client is running and at least one table or the lobby is open.
- On newer Windows 11, older versions couldn't see the client — update PokerLay to the latest version (it updates itself on launch).
- Run PokerLay as administrator if the client also runs elevated.
Style won't apply / client crashes
- Most often it's antivirus blocking the attach to the client. Add PokerLay to the exclusions of your antivirus and Windows Defender.
- If the client closes right after "Apply" — update PokerLay to the latest version (a stale cached engine could conflict with new skins).
- After adding the exclusion, click "Apply again".
"No connection to server" / doesn't work in Russia
- Providers in Russia often block our server. In version 0.2.15+ the app automatically switches to a backup mirror — update to the latest version.
- If the update won't download — install the latest version manually via the backup link on the Download page.
- As a last resort, connect via VPN once so the app pulls the fresh engine — no VPN needed afterwards.
Style reset after a poker-client update
- Normal: the client updated and reset the look. PokerLay re-applies the style automatically the next time you open a table.
- If it didn't — click "Apply" manually.
The UAC window pops up every time
- The Windows prompt is needed to attach to the client — it's a one-time confirmation per apply session.
- A single UAC applies the style to all open iPoker clients at once.
Frequently asked questions
Which poker clients does PokerLay support?
- Currently Red Star Poker and other desktop clients of the iPoker network on Windows (Champion, etc.). ACR is in beta; 888 and Poker King are in progress. Full list on the Layouts page.
Is it safe for my account?
- Yes. PokerLay is purely cosmetic: it only changes how tables, cards and chips look on screen. It doesn't read or change gameplay, card dealing, and never interacts with your account or the poker room's server.
Is it allowed by the rooms' rules?
- PokerLay gives no in-game advantage and isn't prohibited software like a HUD or solver. Red Star has granted official permission; for other rooms the status is on the Permissions page, and you use it at your own responsibility.
Do I need to be tech-savvy?
- No. It's a simple app: pick a room, click "Apply". No config files or command line.
Does it work on Mac?
- Windows 10/11 only for now — same as the iPoker desktop clients themselves.
How much does it cost?
- You get a trial on first login. Terms and payment are inside the app, in the account section.
Can I use it on several computers?
- Yes, one account works across multiple PCs. Sign in with Google or Telegram.
Do I have to install updates manually?
- No. PokerLay updates itself on launch. You can see the version history on the Updates page.
